So I sent Eudaimonia a link to Jesse Duplantis's Wikipedia article. She had a good question, "Why do all these televangelists look the same?" I was going to defend them for a moment, then I realized, she's right. Aside from Joel Olsteen, all of them are old white guys with white hair and the same suit on...and they look the same.
Anyhow, she also brought up some good questions on what we value as Protestants on suffering, passion, and redemption. I think the answer is summed up nicely in our bit of a flawed system with a question I was once asked at summer camp, "A man accepts Christ as his Savior and commits a serial killing spree...does he go to Heaven?"
The "correct" answer is yes, his sins are forgiven, even those he has not committed yet. If you can figure out how that works, you're better than I at our Protestant theology.

My Protestant friends say "It's based on a whole lot of factors we wouldn't know about...but that's up to God."
Zack unknowingly mentioned that if you're Baptist, you are saved anyway. And some would say that to kill, you were never saved at all. ;)
In any case, you know what I think.
There is no such thing as 'Once Saved, Always Saved'..its a myth. Just because you are born again does not mean you are guaranteed Heaven. You can loose your State of Grace. Which is why Jesus gave the Apostles the power to Forgive Sins. Because nothing unclean will ever enter Heaven and once we sinned we become unclean.
