Easter Vigil

Christ is Risen!

I've come home from Easter Vigil, my entrance into the Roman Catholic Church. Fr. C had so much trouble with lighting the Easter Candle, the high winds blew the fire every which way and kept putting out his foot long matches (which he had to fish out of the flames after dropping them in at one point). Confirmation was without incident besides me grinning with my taking the name Maximilian Kolbe.

The Eucharist too, went well. At first I was like "oh okay...that's it?" with both the Host and the Precious Blood, but then as I knelt, going, "Lord...I don't feel different, but this is what I've waited over a year for. Please, let me never take your body and blood for granted. May I always look forward to it." It hit me then, the same "thing" that so broke me at Blessed Margaret of Castello's Perpetual Adoration Chapel was what I had just consumed, I nearly cried. I found myself mentally saying things like, "Lord, I never want to be separated from this again, from You again."

I understood with heart as well as mind, and that my friends, that is the greatest gift any can ever receive.

He is risen indeed, alleluia!
