Esoteric Post here...

I'd like to start with a picture:

Marburg seems contained now, but an ebola outbreak has possibly occurred in Ecuatorial Guinnea.

Also the Filibuster thing. Nothing good has ever come of it supposedly? During a filibuster against New Mexico becoming a state something happened, Arizona became a state. Not right away, but it was mentioned repeatedly if New Mexico could become one, so could Arizona, and a year later Arizona became a state in the United States of America.

Also, Bush has had a 95% success rating at getting who he wants approved by the Senate. No other President has had such a high success rate, which makes the rantings of the Far Right extremists seem bad. I don't mean the regular Right, I mean the people that make Jerry Falwell look like an Atheistic Prostitute standing on a street corner.

Anyhow a friend was pointing out War and Conservatism had ended Slavery and Fascism. Then I pointed out there's still slavery around the world, and Fascism. Liberalism, on the other hand, yes those "Damn Liberals" have only organized Unions, Rebuilt Europe, Brought the USA out of the Great Depression, got Minorities and Women the right to vote, and ended Segregation.

I was watching documentaries, and one came on about the Great Depression. There was this Detroit factory worker talking about a possible Communist Uprising that was organized in a lot of major cities, and was awaiting the signal for violent revolution. FDR's fireside chats of change, and that change literally saved the nation from ending. The Democrats were in power at the right time, had a Republican been in power...we quite possibly would not be what we are today.

Then there is the Civil War. Abraham Lincoln and his Republican administration were in power. Once again, the right person, at the right time, with the right political views, was there. Had there been a Democrat in power, who if I remember correctly, was willing to negotiate a treaty with the South, there would be two nations out of what is now the United States of America.

What is my point? We fight, constantly struggle, the two major parties battle for dominance. And so far we've been lucky, because at every crisis point, history has shown us to have the only viable leader that could have saved our skins. Is Bush that leader? Beats me, ask me twenty years from now. For the moment just remember, without either Party, our world would be a lot more different for the worse. And I leave you with the words of the President who probably inspired our Blow People Up Foreign Policy.

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."
— President Theodore Roosevelt

Good tidings to any who actually read this.
