"Inquisitor," the woman at the head of the table gave a nod to him.
"Sorcha," Aurelius replied, taking in the horrified looks of the conspirators with a small chuckle, "Well I suppose we can get down to business? You are all here for a reason...we are going to topple the God Emperor of Mankind from his Golden Throne on Terra."
"You're insane," whispered one of the men at the table, "The Emperor is the only thing holding back the hordes of Chaos!"
Aurelius didn't even deign to respond, instead a blast from his laspistol splitting the man's head open. He turned to the others, "There is no room for doubt when we are bringing about a new age for mankind. We cannot hope to accomplish any form of victory over the threats of the xenos and daemons as long as mankind bows and scrapes before this corpse god."
"Inquisitor," Sorcha spoke softly, "Perhaps you should explain to the others what will happen when we slay the God Emperor."
"Very well," Gareth Aurelius smiled at the remaining assembled conspirators, "when the Emperor dies, the Starchild will be born. Then, what is described by the Ecclesiarchy isn't far off the truth...Chaos will be defeated, the Warp calmed, and we will enter a new Golden Age."
"And what makes you think we can accomplish this," another conspirator asked, his flat mechanical voice betraying no emotion.
"Fabricator General," Inquisitor Aurelius turned to face the ancient tech priest, "we will not be alone. We will have a distraction for the Adeptus Custodes..."
"Which is," the Adeptus Mechanicum's leader demanded in his monotone voice.
"I intend to loose an army of daemons upon Holy Terra of course," smiled Inquisitor Aurelius predatorially, "The Mechanicum knows the time for the Omnissiah's Second Coming is near. Do you stand with me?"
"The Mechanicum stands with you," the Fabricator General's flat words held the disturbing promise of bloodshed unseen since the Horus Heresy.
"Then," Aurelius turned to face the others, "There is one last thing to see to. I am going to the Eye of Terror to meet with Abbadon the Despoiler. Cadia must fall..."
"You can destroy Cadia," Sorcha raised an eyebrow from the head of the table.
"I have an exterminatus capable Grey Knight battle barge," Aurelius explained with a shrug, "the death of Cadia will be my symbol of goodwill to Abbadon."
