Earlier, I found myself foolish enough to reply to an e-mail on spiritual warfare in a non-snarky manner. I should have known better, truly I should have.
Anyhow, the person kept going on and on about what all these famous Evangelicals and Deliverance Ministers have said on the topic. After so much of this, I snapped a bit, "What then does the Bible say on such things? I have heard a great deal regarding the thoughts of mortal men on darkness and deprivation, but I have yet to hear a word about Christ."
I am often guilty of the sin of hubris. I was tonight when I snapped, but still, I do think my point has merit. We focus so much on Pop Spirituality, our own little Pastor Superstars, and on bloody fiction on spiritual warfare, that we forget Christ. You know, the Man who put Christ into Christianity...saved us from the depths of our sins?
